Zimbabwean international Takesure Chinyama scored an incredible four goals while Sifiso Myeni netted once for the rampant Bucs.
The final score could have been even more but the Comores side used an off-side trap that continually left the speedy players of Pirates annoyed, as well as the amateurish refereeing.
"We didn't really know how they were going to play and it was frustrating at times, especially their off-side trap," De Sa said after the game.
"For us this game was a question of the unknown.
"For a team of amateurs, or semi-professionals, they really gave us a good fight and this is a good wake-up call for us.
"We wanted more goals but we rested some of our key players and we got the result. I just hope this lead will be enough."
Djabal's coach Ahamada Jambay refused to let the whipping get the better of them ahead of the second-leg clash scheduled to take place in two weeks' time.
The two-time Comores league winner was adamant that Pirates are in for a surprise.
"This was not a question of the geographic conditions. We came against a professional team - and just to remind you, we come from Comoros, and all our teams are amateurs," he said.
"There are two of my most experienced players who have played for the national team seven times and were not available today.
"We don't pay our players and they are all volunteers, who play for pleasure, so we could bring an element of surprise."
