Siwelele took a 2-0 lead into half time thanks to goals from Joel Mogorosi in the 23rd minute and Ruzaigh Gamildien shortly before the break.

Lerato Manzini put the result beyond any doubt in the 63rd minute to take Celtic to sixth in the PSL standings with 24 points from 18 games.

New Wits boss Clive Barker suffered his first loss in charge of the Clever Boys after an impressive 2-0 showing away from home to Black Leopards. The loss leaves the Students in ninth in the league table with 22 points from 18.

The hosts made a flying start to the match, and dominated proceedings in the first 10 minutes. Gamildien received a perfect pass from Mogorosi on the edge of the area and did well to beat his marker and get his shot away, but looked on as his effort curled wide of the post.

Phunya Sele Sele troubled again soon after, Lerato Manzini this time failing to get his header from the corner on target. Gamildien had a golden chance from another corner mere minutes later, but his free header from close range couldn't beat Wits goalkeeper Ryan Harrison.

A defensive lapse from the Clever Boys in the 23rtd minute left Morogosi unmarked on the right wing. The Botswana international worked his way inside and coolly squeezed the ball through Harrison's legs for the opening goal.

The lead was doubled a quarter of an hour later, Tsietsi Mhoa put in a brilliant cross from the left flank to find Gamildien, who did wonderfully to nod it into the bottom corner.

After the break Wits had a good chance to pull one back, but Matthew Pattison could only find the side netting after a brilliant solo run.

Barker's men were made to rue their missed opportunity when Siwelele put the result to bed in the 63rd minute.

Manzini was left open at the far post and powered home a beautiful cross from the left wing, giving Harrison no chance of making a save.
