Nigeria beat Burkina Faso 1-0 in a tightly contested final this past Sunday to lift their third continental crown, after a 19-year wait for glory.
The 2013 champions had to beat Mali and Ivory Coast en-route to the final, but both sides are ranked higher than the Super Eagles.
Mali, who were thrashed 4-1 by Nigeria in the semi-final are ranked third in Africa and 25th in the world, while the Elephants are Africa's number one team, taking up 12th place in the world rankings.
Ghana, who came fourth in the competition are second and 19th in Africa and the world respectively. They lost to Mali in the bronze medal match.
