Masango: Committed to Amakhosi

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mandla Masango insists he has no intention of jumping ship, despite his inability to nail down a starting berth under Stuart Baxter.

Masango, a real favourite with people who like to bet on football, joined Amakhosi ahead of the 2007/08 PSL season from amateur side Walter Stars and made his debut against Thanda Royal Zulu on 15 August 2007.

Now in his sixth season with Chiefs, the Kwaggafontein-born midfielder has made only 52 starts for the Glamour Boys in all competitions but insists, that despite favourable odds to the contrary from bookmakers like Paddy Power, that he is staying put in Naturena.

"This is my home and I have been here for a long time. Basically, I'm enjoying every moment at Chiefs," he told Football411. "I know I haven't been playing a lot, but when I do get my chance I go out to give the best I can for the benefit of the team.

"I'm a very patient guy so I will continue to work hard with the hope that soon I will get to play regular football and the thought of leaving Chiefs has never crossed my mind because like I said this is my home and I'm enjoying myself here."

The 23-year-old added: "I wish I will never leave. Me not playing is part and parcel of football and as a soccer player, this is what you have to go through to make it in the end."

Masango has 24 more months on his current deal after signing a new three-year contract in January 2012.
