The Bafana Bafana defender has been out since August last year after tearing his Achilles tendon, ruling him out for the majority of the first-half of the PSL campaign as well as the recently concluded 2013 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
The former SuperSport United centre-back has, however, recovered from the injury, although Baxter is not willing to risk the player just yet, having seen his current centre-back pairing of Tefu Mashamaite and Eric Mathoho keep a clean sheet against Mamelodi Sundowns following the goalless draw on Tuesday.
"Morgan is actually ahead of schedule in his recovery," Baxter said. "If we were desperate we could give him some game time, but we don't want him to have his big hurrah and then he breaks down again. I reckon in about a month Morgan will be ready for selection."
Amakhosi's stalemate against the Brazilians allowed Orlando Pirates to overtake them at the PSL summit following the Buccaneers' 1-0 win over SuperSport on Wednesday.
The Glamour Boys next take on Free State Stars on Saturday, and Baxter is hoping the seven players who recently returned to the squad from AFCON have shaken off any tiredness.
"This match against Sundowns was important as the first one after the AFCON, and we got it out of our minds that we can't perform because we are tired," the Englishman added. "I think if we are able to recuperate well, we will be at least mentally sharper for the Free State game."
