Arrows started brightly with Washington Arubi needing to be alert to keep out a 12th minute Zothwane free-kick.

Ayanda Lubelo then wasted a glorious opportunity for his side as he blasted wide of the target after being set up by a neat Mame Niang back-heel.

Tuks wasted a number of half chances throughout the first half and were made to pay for their profligacy.

Zothwane saw a goal-bound effort well tipped over the bar by Arubi but he could do nothing to keep out his effort a minute before the break.

Arubi opted to come off his line to deal with a ball deep into his area but Zothwane got their first before chipping the goalkeeper from a tight angle.

The second half didn't start as lively as the first but there were still chances for both sides.

Thabo Mosadi tried to beat Pavels Steinbors in the 58th minute but the Arrows goalkeeper was not to be outdone.

New signing Namibian Petrus Shitembe, on his debut for AmaTus, should have done better with a chance late on after coming on as a substitute following a good passage of play from Steve Barker's side - but he fired high and wide.

Zothwane then saw Arubi save his close-range attempt before Steinbors did well to keep out a Lionel Mutizwa pile driver.

But with just a minute of regulation time to go, Ntuli tapped home from close range after Arubi parried a Thamsanqa Gabuza shot into the winger's path.
