Cohen was part of the Cosmos team that won the National First Division (NFD) three years ago, but did not see much action with Ezenkosi during their time in the Premier Soccer League.

A move to Wits materialised late in 2010, but again he did not feature and left the Milpark club before the season was over.

Cohen had short spells at several NFD sides, namely Witbank Spurs and Black Aces, before joining Chippa ahead of the 2012/2013 season.

It seemed his career was on the rise again after starting a few games and also scoring twice for the Chilli Boys, but suddenly the attacking midfielder was released from the Philippi-based outfit just days after the departure of coach Farouk Abrahams.

"I don't want to speak about them (Chippa) anymore, its part of my past," he told Football411. "I'm happy to have signed for Swallows. They're a team with really good players and I'm looking forward to learning from them as well as adding my own style.

"It should not be a problem fitting in as I was in Joburg for long and I know some of the players there, I've played against some of them and alongside others.

"It's a new challenge, a challenge I look forward to."

Swallows take on Ajax Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday night, although Cohen will be watching from the stands.

"I hope to meet the guys before the game but I definitely will watch them, it's my team," he said excitedly.
