The Buccaneers, who occupy second place on the PSL table, just one point behind Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs, welcome United to Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.

Chiefs are in action 24 hours earlier at Mamelodi Sundowns, and depending how matters play out at Loftus Stadium, PIrates could climb to the summit with a win over Matsatsantsa.

However, Gavin Hunt's men hold a 3-0 win over the Buccaneers in the second-leg of their MTN8 clash last year, with the two teams having also played to a goalless draw in the top flight already this season.

"The match against SuperSport United will be an interesting affair," Klate told Pirates' official website. "We have played them three times already this season (twice in the MTN 8 and league) and we have failed to win a match."

Klate, who missed out on selection for South Africa to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, knows the inner-workings of United.

The 27-year-old won three successive PSL titles with the Pretoria outfit before linking up with the Bucs.

He added: "Having played at the club before, I know that United are a very difficult side to beat because of how the team is able to adapt or change its playing style according to the opposition they face.

"We must stick to our own game plan and hopefully we can collect three points after the match. Its obviously going to be a tight match but I believe we have enough in our arsenal to defeat them in our backyard."
