The 51-year-old former Togo and Mali coach announced his resignation on South African radio station Metro FM shortly after guiding Nigeria to Africa Cup of Nations success over Burkina Faso.
Keshi had apparently made up his mind to quit well before the final after feeling he did not have the backing of the Nigerian Football Federation, but in a dramatic turn of events, he appears to have had all of his concerns addressed.
SuperSport quoted an unnamed source saying: "He has agreed to withdraw his resignation after a meeting with the sports minister. So he will remain as the coach of the Super Eagles.
"But what Keshi and the minister discussed I really don't know though I'm sure Keshi must have been given some assurances by the minister concerning his complaints."
