In their first-round encounter, Stars won 2-1 in Athlone, and since then Chippa have fired Manqoba Mngithi and Farouk Abrahams, as well as a stand-in coach.

Former Ajax Cape Town assistant coach Wilfred Mugeyi took over the reins during the Africa Cup of Nations break.

Chippa are second from bottom with a paltry 13 points from 16 games and have not won on the road, while Stars are unbeaten in six league matches.

The Bethlehem team is fourth on the standings with 25 points, 10 less than log leaders Kaizer chiefs, and are aiming to maintain the momentum they had in 2012.

Both sides have no injuries but both have boosted their squads with formidable players.

Stars acquired former SuperSport United hitman Fikru Tefera while defender Mbulelo 'OJ' Mabizela, striker Ace Bhengu and winger Madibusane Zongo have joined the Chilli Boys, who are on a mission to avoid relegation.

Kickoff is at 6pm at the Charles Mopeli Stadium.
