The Urban Warriors begin the second-half of the season with a home match against Moroka Swallows on Wednesday night at the Cape Town Stadium.

"What I worked on the past two weeks is discipline, discipline in terms of how we want to play," Versleijn told Football411.

"I made it clear what I want when we do not have the ball ,so the players have to be disciplined to do this.

"We have to make the right choices and we have to do that all the time. That comes from discipline and being consistent.

"We worked on this so that there is consistency and clarity, but the discipline has to be high. A more consistent style should bring the good results. So we are building on that basis of discipline and consistency."

The Dutchman said that consistency was a problem in the first-half of the season which left Ajax occupying 14th place, just two above the relegation zone with a paltry 15 points.

Versleijen admitted that they had a problem up front, but is excited at the potential that newcomers Lance Davids, Mabhuti Khanyeza and Abia Nale bring to the side.

He added: "We have a problem with scoring goals and this adds pressure on the backline and midfield. We now have players that can do the job up front and bring the quality we need.

"We have a good balance between young and old, experience and youngsters from the academy. We have more choices up front and that's good because if there are injuries, suspension or the game needs a change then we have that option.

"Our players from the academy already know the way Ajax play so it is easier for them to fit in, but they need the older guys to guide them."

The former Australia youth coach says Swallows' weakness is probably their defence and they have to work on ways to unlock it.

"They are very dangerous at set-plays and they've got good attacking players. I think in their backline they have some problems but that is something we have to figure out," he added with a wry smile.

"I am not looking beyond Swallows and we will take it one game at a time. That is our approach to all games."
