Matsatsantsa recently earned a 1-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic in the Reconciliation Cup, a Free State friendly tournament, as they prepare for the restart of the PSL season this week.

And although United might be out of the running for this season's Premiership crown, Hunt is determined to make an impact on the continental stage, having booked their Confed Cup ticket via their Nedbank Cup title success last season.

"The game against Siwelele was good and very competitive for both teams ahead of the start of the Premiership second leg," Hunt said.

"But for us it was a great experience and exercise for young players we have signed and the team as a whole because our focus is not only to improve in the league but also do well in the African Championship.

"Playing in Africa is a big challenge, it's a war to play in continental competitions.

"I believe it's a good experience for local teams to play in African competitions. We want to go as far as possible in the Confederation Cup while we will be fighting to keep pace with the league."

SuperSport United are next in action against double-treble champions Orlando Pirates in the PSL on Wednesday evening, while they kick-off their African adventure against Don Bosco next month.
