Dauda was crucial to the Ghanaians' qualification to the semi-final stages after a Man-of-the-Match effort in Saturday's 2-0 win over Cape Verde.
The 27-year-old reckons he has come a long way since the Black Stars' opening AFCON fixture when he leaked two goals in their 2-2 draw with DR Congo, keeping a clean sheet in every match since then.
"It is difficult but I am trying to do my best," Fatau said on the Ghana footballing body's official website. "We have good goalkeepers in the country both foreign and local and for the national team, it depends on the selection. They chose me to start the tournament.
"I am not saying I am good than the other goalkeepers but in football, it's about who gets selected and so I want to keep the faith of the coach."
