Sheriff, as he is affectionately known at Naturena, enjoyed a couple of appearances for the Amakhosi first-team last season, but is back in the reserves as he looks to further hone his skills.
The Chiefs youth academy graduate believes there is a great need for such a division, which had almost been scrapped last year following a falling out with the Premier Soccer League over financial support.
"The Reserve League means smoother integration of the players from the development to the first team, also good for the players that are returning from injuries and those that are on suspension," Baloyi told the club's official website.
"The PSL needs to be commended for bringing it back and I am hoping it is going to continue."
Baloyi did not feature for Chiefs against the Brazilians, although he insists previous stints in the league have only helped further his career.
He added: "It really helped my confidence as I was not seeing lot of game time in the first team. The games are competitive as most of the teams we played against like Orlando Pirates used players from the first team.
"I am more confident going to the last round of the season. It is very important as a player to be always ready in case the technical team needs your services. I have been working hard in training and hopefully I will get my chance soon in the team."
