The Indomitable Lions, who missed out on a place at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations after losing their final qualifier against Cape Verde Islands, will be without Alexander Song for this week's encounter.
The Barcelona midfielder is reportedly struggling with a knee injury and has been left out as a precautionary measure, although he is still expected to travel with the squad in a show of support.
Jean Paul Akono's side are currently preparing for next month's World Cup qualifier against Togo, and have called up the squad members in batches.
Captain Samuel Eto'o, though, will be handed a late fitness test after picking up a slight knock.
Jean Kana Biyick, Fabrice Olinga, Allan Nyom, Henri Bedimo are in the second batch of players and are only expected to link up with the team on Tuesday.
Tanzania, meanwhile, have been boosted by the arrivals of strikers Mbwana Samatta and Thomas Ulimwengu on Sunday, with the DR Congo-based pair set to lead the line up front.
The Taifa Stars are also using the midweek game as preparations for their World Cup hopes, with their next qualifier coming against Morocco on March 22.
