Ghana
Fatau Dauda: Was in outstanding form, especially in the second half, keeping the Cape Verde attack at bay by himself. 9/10
Harrison Afful: Had a good game overall, great first half, struggled in the second under pressure. 6/10
Isaac Vorsah: Was solid in the centre of defence, was on top of mostly everything thrown at him. 7/10
John Boye: Similar to Vorsah, had a good game, solid at the back. Kept his head under pressure. 7/10
John Pantsil: Was good on the right of defence, got up and down the pitch well. 6/10
Christian Atsu: Was a bright spark in attack, rather unfortunate not to win man of the match, but that honour went to Dauda. 8/10
Mohammed Rabiu: Was a bit hot-headed, got booked for a rash challenge and was lucky to escape a second booking. 5/10
Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu: Had a good game in the middle of the park, got into good attacking positions. 7/10
Albert Adomah: Was solid in the midfield, created good attacking chances. Passing was silky smooth. 7/10
Kwadwo Asamoah: Had a good game, but went missing when the opposition put Ghana under pressure. 6/10
Asamoah Gyan: Was busy upfront as usual. Didn't get a goal, but created a few good chances. 7/10
Substitutes
Wakaso Mubarak: Had a brilliant second half, scored from the spot and kept his head about him when faced with the empty goal to score his second. 8/10
Solomon Asante: Didn't have too much time to have much of an impact, but filled Atsu's spot excellently. 6/10
Derek Boateng: Was very involved in keeping Cape Verde at bay during his short spell on the pitch. 6/10
Cape Verde:
Josimar Vozinha: Didn't have too bad a game, but will be kicking himself that he was caught on the wrong side of the pitch for the second goal. 6/10
Santos Nivaldo: Had a good game overall, got forward a lot and contributed to the attacking force in the second half. 5/10
Fernando Varela: Was solid in defence and kept the Ghana attack quiet enough. 6/10
Neves Nando: Marshalled his troops well, solid at the centre-back position, even got forward on occasion. 6/10
Carlitos: Had a good game, got forward well, but at fault for the penalty. 5/10
Marco Paulo Silva Soares: Quiet in the first half, good second half, created some good opportunities. 6/10
Tony Varela: Was the midfield general, central to most created opportunities. 7/10
Elvis Babanco: Had a quiet first half, but came alive in the second. Was deadly from the set-plays and unfortunate to come out empty-handed. 8/10
Ramos Heldon: Was busy upfront, but ultimately extremely wasteful. 4/10
Julio Tavares: Wasted several opportunities to get his country back in contention. 5/10
Mendes Ryan: Was lively in attack, got forward a lot, would be disappointed to have gone off injured. 5/10
Substitutes
Luis Platini: Was very lively when he came on because of the Mendes injury, created a fair few opportunities. 6/10
Jorge Djaniny: Was similarly lively, unleashed a few thunderous shots on goal, unfortunate that Dauda was in such good form. 6/10
Rambe Ze Luis: Didn't have too much involvement, got stuck in, but that's about it. 5/10
