The highly anticipated encounter was set up after the Elephants finished top of Group D after coming back from two-goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Algeria on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles, meanwhile, ensured their runners-up finish in Group C thanks to a 2-0 win over Ethiopia in the final group match, with two Victor Moses penalties doing the damage.

The two Africa titans will now battle it out for a place in the last-four, with the Ivory Coast looking to end their 21-year wait for the AFCON crown, while Nigeria last lifted the trophy in 1994, their second continental success.

In team news, Cote d'Ivoire coach Sabri Lamouchi is set to bring his first-choice players back into the starting XI after making no fewer than nine changes for their final group match in midweek.

That means the likes of Gervinho, Yaya Toure, Didier Zokora and Cheick Tiote should make the starting XI, while Boubacar Barry is set to come back between the sticks following a horror outing from Daniel Yeboah last time.

Didier Drogba and Kolo Toure had managed to retain their starting berths in that game, with the former netting his side's first, and the former Chelsea striker should again lead the line up front in what will surely be his, and several of his compatriots' last attempt to land Africa's biggest title.

Nigeria will be looking to Efe Ambrose to once again perform at the highest level, having run the Ethiopians ragged in the final group match, providing plenty of service for the frontmen.

Ikechukwu Uche and Emmanuel Emenike are set to retain their roles up front, while Moses will be hoping to also get his chance to impress following his double last-time out.
