The Fennec Foxes have already purchased their plane tickets home after losing their opening two group matches to sit bottom of the standings with zero points, and with a goal difference of minus-three.
The Elephants, meanwhile, recorded maximum points in their opening two ties to sit top, and with Group D rivals Togo and Tunisia both on three points, the Ivorians' place in the first knock-out round is already assured.
That means Sabri Lamouchi can afford to give the squad's fringe players a run out, with the Ivory Coast coach having previously stated he is not concerned about finishing first or second in the group, as they fear no potential last-eight match-up.
Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic, meanwhile, is likely to name a full-strength team, with the tactician's job reportedly on the line following such a disastrous performance at the South Africa spectacular.
The two sides will clash at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium near Rustenburg, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00.
