South Africa clashed with the Lions of Atlas at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday night for their final Group A match and only needed a point while the north Africans had to win.

Morocco took the lead twice but Mahlangu and Siyabonga Sangweni saved the day for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations hosts.

Mahlangu's long-range shot came in the 70th minute and Sangweni then scored in the 85th to seal Bafana's most wanted point.

"I dedicate this goal to my grandmother. She has always been there for me, supporting me because I do not have parents," Mahlangu said after the game.

"She is in Mpumalanga in Secunda and this goal was for her."

He added: "I've worked a lot on my shooting at training, especially from outside of the danger area where I try to bend the ball towards goal.

"This is something that I do a lot overseas at my club so it is not a surprise for me. I am just very happy that I was able to do this in South Africa to show the fans I can do it for them too, and it is a reward for the hard work I have put in at training."
