South Africa came back twice to draw 2-2 with Morocco in their final Group A match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and secured top spot, which means they further their stay in the coastal city where the support's been exceptional.
Against Angola, Furman produced a man-of-the-match performance and steered Bafana to a 2-0 victory while on Sunday night against Lions of Atlas he gave another effective display.
"We are very settled here. We wanted to stay in Durban because the fans have really got behind us and have helped us so much," he told MTNfootball.
"Staying in Durban also means we don't have to waste a day by travelling, which can take a toll on the bodies. We'll work hard now on our recovery and then get back to hard training in the week.
"We're very excited for the next round and we'll be watching all the teams that we could play in the quarters very carefully."
Bafana midfielder May Mahlangu and defender Siyabonga Sangweni netted against Morocco, and Furman says the team showed their true quality against the highly-rated north Africans.
"We showed another quality to our squad tonight," he continued. "We showed that we can come from behind twice and with a few minutes to go they threw everything at us, and our guys put their bodies on the line so we are delighted with the result.
"They (Morocco) were a good side, they have very good players. But we stuck to what we needed to do and we did really well in the second half against a team who really sat back and tried to hold onto their lead. The two goals were brilliant as well and we are very excited."
Another delight for Furman is that his club side Oldham beat Liverpool 3-2 in an FA Cup fourth-round match at Boundary Park.
"I'm totally thrilled with both results. What a day for me," the Latics skipper declared.
