Cape Verde:
Josimar Vozinha: Fairly quiet evening for the shot-stopper. Made a couple decent saves and not at fault for Angola's goal. 7/10
Admilson Gege: Solid in defence and provided some attacking threat down the wing. 6/10
Fernando Varela: Scorer of the opening goal and a constant threat at set-pieces. 7/10
Nando Neves: Stood up well to the aerial threat posed by Manucho, and was unlucky to put the ball into his own net. 6/10
Toni Varela: Did not provide much attacking impetus and was substituted at the start of the second period. 5/10
Marco Soares: Confident on the ball and controlling in the midifeld, a good contribution all round. 7/10
Luis Platini: Failed to break down the Angolan defence before being replaced at the break. 5/10
Elvis Babanco: Had a decent effort well saved in the first half and tried a spectacular volley from 50 yards out that only troubled the ball-boys. :6/10
Carlitos: Was subdued for most of the 90 minutes and will need to improve in order to keep his place in the starting line up. 4/10
Ryan Mendes: Linked up well with Julio Tavares up front and had a few chances at goal but was let down by a poor first touch on many occasions. 6/10
Julio Tavares: Physically imposing and had a number of chances to score, but some wayward finishing and good goalkeeping kept him out. 7/10
Substitutes:
Rambe: Came on in the 87th minute and his sole contribution was the shot that led to Heldon's winner. 6/10
Djaniny: Had one chance to score, but his first touch eluded him. Pacy and creative throughout. 7/10
Heldon: Changed the game when he came on at the start of the second half. Set-piece delivery was always threatening and was on hand to finish off a counter-attacking move that gave Cape Verde the victory. 9/10
Angola:
Lama: Culpable for both goals conceded with his poor attempted punch clear and his failure to hang on to Rambe's shot. 4/10
Bartolomeu Bastos: Lively early on, but faded towards the latter stages. 6/10
Marco Airosa: Much like defensive partner Bastos, he tired as the game wore on. 5/10
Dany Massunguna: Struggled to contain Mendes and later Djaniny in a disappointing display. 5/10
Jose Pirolito: Disappeared at times when he was most needed at the back. Substituted late on. 5/10
Amaro: Overcame an early head injury to turn in a solid performance. Delivered a fantastic ball that led to the Angolan's goal. 7/10
Gilberto: Bombed down the left at will and provided some decent service to Manucho who failed to capitalise. 6/10
Manucho Dinis: Marshalled the midfiled with aplomb and can hold his head high in defeat. 7/10
Djalma Campos: Angola's best player with his pace and trickery causing the defenders numerous problems all night. Delivered some decent crosses from the right. 8/10
Mateus: Inconspicuous for the most part and could not have been surprised by his substitution in the 66th minute. 5/10
Manucho: Another below-par performance from the captain. Did not take advantage of some fine work done by his team-mates. 5/10
Substitutes:
Dede: Replaced Mateus in the 66th minute, but didn't really influence the game. 5/10
Geraldo: Had 10 minutes to make an impact which proved too little as Angola struggled to contain Cape Verde's attacking threats. 4/10
Yano: Had two shots at goal after coming on in the 87th minute, both of which flew past Vozinho's right hand upright. 6/10
