The Black Stars squandered a golden opportunity to go top of their group by letting a two-goal lead slip against DR Congo in their first group match but Appiah is confident his side will up their game against the Eagles.

"There is no pressure on the team and everyone will see a different Ghana on Thursday," Appiah told Sapa.

"Mali are a good team. We played them twice at the Africa Cup last year. They are one of the few teams to have won their first game and showed they have a good side. We will give them one of our best games.

"I have watched the Mali side, but we cannot depend solely on that information to plan. The result will largely depend on the determination and concentration of the players on the pitch as well as their tactical discipline."

Appiah will however have to deal with injuries to striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and midfielder Anthony Annan in the build up to their crucial game at the Nelson Mandela Stadium.

"We had a few injuries during the training camp and that is normal going into a competition of this nature.

"(Mubarak) Wakaso and (Asamoah) Gyan are both okay and available for selection, but the medical team is working on Boakye-Yiadom and Annan," he said.
