Morocco dominated in their match with Angola but just could not find the back of the net and ultimately had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Cape Verde, meanwhile, looking the more likely side to score than South Africa when the two sides faced each other in the opening clash.

The Atlas Lions last won the AFCON in 1976 and believe they can repeat that feat this year, and with the like of playmaker Younes Belhanda, winger Oussama Assaidi and a very confident Hamdaoui, they have a good a chance as any of the 16 teams participating.

"I think the last passes have to be good. We have some good possession play but in the end, it is the last pass that is not very good. I think we have to work on that," said the Fiorentina player.

"Mentally I am always good and that is the most important thing. I am happy. I am happy to play where I am now.

"It is nice to be here, it is nice to play football for your country and it is nice to play in the African Cup so we are happy to be here."
