The DRC overcame a two-goal deficit to earn a valuable point in the opening Group B encounter in Port Elizabeth this weekend.
Ghana, four-time winners of Africa's greatest football event, will feel aggrieved to have come away with just a solitary point as they look to navigate their way put of a tricky group that also includes Mali and Niger.
Despite the result, former Black Stars coach Le Roy believes that they, along with Didier Drogba's Ivory Coast, are the favourites to win this years edition.
"They convinced me. Ghana and Ivory Coast are both good and that is the reason for today's 2-2 draw," Le Roy told MTNFootball.
"Ghana you know is the best team of Africa, with Ivory Coast."
The DRC are next in action against Niger at the Nelson Mandela Bay on Thursday.
