The Super Eagles are in Group C with Ethiopia, Burkina Faso and the defending champions Zambia, and are favourites to emerge top of the group.

But whether they are crowned AFCON champions winners or not, it is believed that the regular payments for the Nigerian players remain in place with $10,000 for a win and half that for a draw.

NFF finance committee Shehu Adamu told MTNFootball: ""We are not preparing anything special as incentives for the Eagles. It's the regular bonus they would get."

Nigeria play their first game on Monday against Burkina Faso at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
