The 28-year-old makes the moves to Matsatsantsa after having made just five appearances for Usuthu prior to the mid-season break.

He also counts Free State Stars and Bloemfontein Celtic as previous employers.

"Joining SuperSport is a big step for me and I'm excited," Hlela told United's official website.

"This is so special for me because it's not easy for a township player to be part of the ambitious team such as SuperSport.

"Their record speaks volume and I certainly want to be part of the winning team. They have quality players who won titles and I want to add value into the team.

"My new teammates and the technical team gave me a warm welcome and I'm really settled."

Primarily a left-sided player, Hlela will now have to fight it out with Lucas Thwala, Innocent Mdledle, Danleigh Borman, Ronald Mohlaka and Davies Nkausu for starting berth at United.

He added: "The competition is very stiff. I will be fighting for a place with players who have immense experience. It is not going to be an easy task for me to just break into the team.

"However, I'm ready for the challenge."
