Niger players will get $6,000 each for every Group B game they win, and that group includes Ghana, Mali and the Democratic Republic of Congo at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

This performance bonus is aimed at improving their 2012 AFCON showing where they lost all three group fixtures.

Menas have another chance to prove their worth on the continental stage in South Africa this month, and will have even more motivation to impress at the showpiece.

"The win bonus is $6,000 and if they draw, they will each get half of that amount," Niger official Garba Lawali told MTNfootball.

Niger and Chippa United goalkeeper Kassaly Daouda concedes that group rivals Ghana are one of the tournament favourites, but he believes his side's preparation and the incentive will spur them on to the second round.

"Our preparation for this tournament has gone very well and the guys in the team are geared up for the tournament," the Chilli Boys goalie said.

"It's an open secret that we are in a tough group with Mali and Ghana but football is always like this. We believe in ourselves.

"The fact that no one is giving us a chance I think will work on our favour, as most of the teams are not concentrating on us."

"Our main target is to qualify for the knockout stages and if we do that anything is possible," said Daouda, who has played 36 times for Niger.

Their first game is on Sunday against Mali at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
