The Elephants are in Group D with Togo, Tunisia and Algeria while the Black Stars will face the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali and Niger in Group B.

Toure's team made it all the way to the 2012 AFCON final and were tagged firm favourites to lift the cup, but Zambia denied them and went on to win their first-ever continental title via a penalty shoot-out.

"No (responding to whether the Ivory Coast are favourites) everybody is always saying that but I think Ghana is the one," the Manchester City player told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

"Because they are playing well and they have a great team and in the last World Cup they were the best Africa team.

"Egypt didn't have a lot of big players but they won it three times. You don't need to have big players to win Africa Cup of Nations," he said of the seven time African champions.

The Ivorians will be based in Rustenburg for the group stage matches while Ghana are in Port Elizabeth for their first three matches.
