The Black Stars whipped Egypt 3-0 and came from two goals down to convincingly beat Tunisia 4-2 in friendly matches at their training grounds in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia.

"Looking at the Egypt and Tunisia games, tactically I'm looking at how we attack, how we defend and at the same time, how we construct our set pieces," said Appiah, who included 10 players that will appear at the AFCON for the first time.

"My ambition was to allow every player to take part in these two games that we played.

"When you're building a team, you don't concentrate on a few players. You are going with 23 players and it is important that each and every player takes part in these trial games."

The four-time AFCON winners will leave for SA on Wednesday and take on the Democratic Republic of Congo in their first Group C match this Sunday in Port Elizabeth.

Mali and Niger complete the group phase for Ghana, who are favourites to head into the quarter-finals as one of the top-seeded sides.
