The Brazilians already boast a 30-man strong squad, although reports claim Mosimane is keen to bring in even more players before the restart of the PSL season in February.

However, the former Bafana Bafana tactician has dismissed those claims, stating he is only after one defender and one midfielder.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele could also return from his loan stay with the University of Pretoria to boost Downs' back-line.

"We are aware of the rumours making rounds about us wanting to sign players left, right and centre," Mosimane told the club's official website.

"We will not be making any wholesale changes, because the only thing we want to do is to strengthen certain key positions, where we feel we are thin.

"Some reports even link us to some foreign players. This can't be true because we have exhausted our foreign quota.

"We are in the market for a centre back and a natural left winger, because those are the positions we need to strengthen. We are not looking at bringing in any foreign players at this point."

Mosimane, though, refused to divulge the identities of his intended targets, instead saying: "Of course we can't reveal the names of the players we are after because, past experience has taught us that such action could compromise a possible deal.

"All I can say is that the players we have identified were carefully selected based on their abilities and talent."
