Mamadou Samassa is in the final squad, but veteran midfielder Mahamadou Diarra will miss the continental tournament.

It was reported that Serie-A based striker Samassa picked up an injury and was replaced by Mana Dembele, the latter consequently not making the cut.

Les Aigles coach Patrice Carteron believes he will be ready for their first clash on January 20 when they take on Niger in their opening Group B game in Port Elizabeth on January 20.

The West Africans will also face Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
