"A national team is made up of players who don't get together often and I want to find cohesiveness in the team, it's very important," he said of his young squad of whom a handful are over 30.
"We've still got work to do to get this team ready. I have all the weapons on the psychological front to overcome the obstacle of players who have never played in the competition before but who are capable of producing a good Nations Cup.
"I'm a man who loves a challenge, I like to call on players who are thirsty, who are hungry. When D-Day arrives, we'll be ready," Taoussi said.
Without a doubt Taoussi has the confidence and expertise to ready his side who exited the 2012 tournament after the first round, and he will look to the likes of playmaker Younes Belhanda to make things happen on the field for the Atlas Lions.
They face Angola in their first AFCON game at the National Stadium in Johannesburg.
AFCON hosts South Africa will also be in action on Tuesday against Norway. SA and Morocco are in Group A with Angola and Cape Verde.
