Speaking ahead of the eagerly-anticipated match, he revealed: "We are going to come up against opponents who are bigger and stronger, but that won't matter if we are passing the ball, moving quicker and getting behind their defence, creating goals, scoring goals and I hope this is what fans will see.
"We are playing quick one touch and two touch football, using the wings and scoring goals at training. Without a doubt I think people will be surprised at what we can do."
Bafana kick off the 2013 AFCON against Cape Verde on January 19 at the National Stadium in Johannesburg ahead of clashes with Morocco and Angola.
"We also don't want to give too much away. I know the Cape Verde and Angola will be watching us, so we'll be mixing things up a little.
"What's important is that the team is working together nicely and everyone is fit and ready for this challenge.
"Previously we have not had this cohesion as we had players from Pirates, Chiefs, Celtic and so on. We did not have this time to prepare and now that we have, you can see how we're gelling.
"There is not a single thing I would change about this team now. Thulani Serero is over his injury and we are working on his match fitness, but come match day he will be ready.
"I am very happy with this squad and them all confident, fighting for a starting place which is healthy. This team is buzzing."
The former Ajax Cape Town and Santos coach is also happy that the natives of the Mother City are supporting the team and he is very much looking forward to the friendly.
"It's amazing what they do. They are there before we go to training and when we get back, they are very supportive and it is a wonderful feeling for all of us to see this support. We want to play a very good game so we can earn the support of the fans, we owe it to them."
The Bafana players have been enjoying their time in Cape Town and Igesund urged them to take a dip in the bitterly cold Atlantic waters during a training session ahead of the match.
"We had a run on the beach, just a light session. And then I told them to get in the water because it's warm," he chuckled. "Some of them looked like they had an electric shock."
Kick off is at 8:30pm.
