Furman is the last player to arrive at the Bafana training camp and completes the 23-man squad that each of the 16 countries are allowed to register for the bi-annual tournament.
The 24-year-old was granted permission to arrive late to allow him to take part in the Latics' FA Cup third-round clash with Nottingham Forest this past weekend, a match which his side won 3-2.
Furman earned his first cap for South Africa in the 1-0 friendly loss to Brazil in September last year, and was named Man of the Match three days later when Bafana beat Mozambique 2-0.
He is expected to bring his battling qualities to the national team when they kick-off AFCON 2013 against Cape Verde on January 19.
