Khune, who was named in Gordon Igesund's final 23-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations later this month, expressed his delight at being able to turn out each week for his beloved Amakhosi.

He told the club's official site: "I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the players to wish each and every Amakhosi fan all the best in 2013.

"We finished 2012 on the top of the Absa Premiership and credit should go to everyone in the team for their contribution. The players did not do it alone, the Technical Team, Staff, Management and the supporters played a huge role.

"I am fortunate to have grown up here as I arrived as a skinny 12-year-old hopeful; success is a big part of what Kaizer Chiefs is about.

"There is a lot of responsibility on us as players to bring back the glory. I have seen it in every 'soldier' in the team that everyone is determined to bring success to the Club.

"We finished the year on top but we will not get carried away. We are going to come back after the African Cup of Nations more determined than ever to continue with our work.

"We are forever grateful to our 'Dad' the Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung for giving us the opportunity to be part of such a special brand. We owe it to him and the multitudes of Club's faithful to Reclaim the Glory!"
