Phunya Sele Sele have impressed in the Premier Soccer League this season, and currently occupy seventh place in the standings.
They were also crowned Telkom Knockout champions after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in this year's final.
And with a top-four finish in Larsen's sights, he has turned his attention to a top-class forward and could look at the foreign market with two of their allotted five slots for foreigners still open.
Larsen told SuperSport: "We have a small squad so some more competition would be good, especially in certain departments.
"We are eyeing someone for the top striker spot, a player who can give up 15 to 20 goals per season. But these type of players are few and far between. It is just a question of keeping looking."
He added: "We believe we have a squad that is good enough, we just need to be more consistent.
"We need of a run of good results in games so that we can be up there and compete with the top teams. But the games are all very difficult."
