The 20-year-old striker was not included in the 26-man squad for next month's continental showpiece in South Africa, despite being in good form for Marseille.

Ayew has scored four goals in 17 Ligue 1 appearances this season and was voted the club's player of the month in November.

The youngster, however, accepts he has to deal with the disappointment in a professional manner.

"Such decisions are part of the life of any footballer," Ayew said in an interview with France Football Magazine.

"I have only 21 years and I am sure that I will take the chance soon. As I will follow the Nations Cup on the screens, I hope that Ghana succeed this time to win the title. I will always be Ghana's supporter."

Ayew revealed in a different interview that the decision to drop him from Black Stars squad may have come from the Ghanaian federation rather than coach Kwesi Appiah.

"It's not so bad not to be taken with Ghana squad. This is Africa you know," he told L'Equipe.

"I do not want to go into details, but if Kevin-Prince Boateng left the team, it is not for nothing.

"Many things happen with the Federation of Ghana. I cannot tell you ... there are things that are not normal."
