Phunya Sele Sele defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 in the final of the lucrative competition last Saturday to be crowned Telkom Knockout kings for the first time in their history.

And to show off their silverware, the team, officials and staff all climbed aboard a bus ahead of a number of planned stops - that included the Mangaung Metro Municipality, the MTN offices where they presented the trophy to the company's marketing manager, Lungile Jama, before heading to the Old Mutual offices and the Telkom offices.

All along the journey were fans who eagerly sang praises for their beloved side although some summer rains put a dampener on events.

It didn't affect the joy felt by Nthethe, who told the club's official website: "I'm still blinking in disbelief that we actually won it. We definitely rode our luck but I think it was one of those things that was written in the stars.

"We've been waiting for this moment to happen. And we're just so pleased to come back here and celebrate with all our fans.

"They have been amazing. We won this trophy for them so that they can have something to brag about. We really appreciated their support over the years."
