Majoro and Parker have each scored eight goals in the Premier Soccer League this campaign and McCarthy, who is still the number one striker for Bafana in terms of goals scored - 31 - told Football411 that the duo deserve to be in Bafana's starting eleven based on current form.
"Majoro has stepped up his game big time and in my opinion, he's been probably one of the most outstanding players in the league together with Parker," McCarthy, who plays for rivals Orlando Pirates, acknowledged.
"Those two should definitely be in contention for the starting eleven for Bafana. If you look at the records and performance, Majoro and Parker have been the outstanding players in our league in terms of goals and team performance, because Chiefs have played amazingly well. They are deservedly in the number one spot on the log," he said.
Meanwhile, McCarthy, who recently returned from a three-month layoff due to a hamstring injury, added that he is still aiming to be part of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations squad.
"Of course," he replied. "For any footballer, whether you are 17, 20 or 35 in my case, just to get a shot in the big time means a lot.
"For me, it could be a chance to finish my career on a high winning the AFCON on home soil. So it is very tempting and appealing. Hopefully my body still allows me so if I'm picked then I can play my part," McCarthy added.
