QPR are yet to win a match in the Premier League this season and manager Harry Redknapp sees Taarabt as a vital part in the Hoops' quest for top-flight survival this season.
With the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations fast approaching, the Moroccan international finds himself with a tough decision to make; stay in London and help his club fight for survival or travel to South Africa to represent his country at the biggest competition in African football.
Taarabt admits that his decision might leave one set of supporters and coaches disappointed, but hinted that he might be at the AFCON.
"It's a difficult decision because the manager asked if I could stay," he told SkySports.
"I would love to but it's my country so if I say 'No', everybody at home will think I don't want to play - so I think I will go.
"I go to Morocco every summer. If they don't do well, the fans will have a go at me and I don't want that."
