Amakhosi had taken the lead through Lucky Baloyi's first-half penalty kick, but Bongani Ndulula and Mpho Mkaola both got on the score-sheet late on to earn the Buccaneers B team the victory.
Speaking after the game, reserve team captain Mbuyane told the club's official website: "This league helped guys like Benson Mhlongo and many other players to get back to their best.
"I think it is a fantastic initiative and we will try by all means to take these games seriously."
He added: "Playing Kaizer Chiefs is always tough but it does not matter if it is a friendly or a competitive game, we will always try our best to beat them and I am glad that in the end we managed to turn the game around and win the match."
