There was a missed first minute chance by Stars midfielder Anver Ersterhuizen, with the next opportunity only coming in the 26th minute.

This saw Jacky Motshegwa failing to score from close range as he elected to go for power rather than accuracy.

Ea La Koto marksman Dove Wome was very close to putting the home side in front shortly before the break, but had to watch in disbelief as his free kick struck the bar.

Phunya Sele Sele had the opening chance of the second half, but after some good work by Ruzaigh Gamildien, he failed to pack enough power in his shot to have the beating of Stars keeper Kennedy Mweene.

At the other end of the pitch, the team from the Free State capital were fortunate to get away without conceding a goal when they struggled to deal with Sedate Akoriko's dangerous free kick.

With 10 minutes to go, Stars were again close to scoring when Paulos Masehe had his close range effort cleared off the goal-line.

Celtic goalkeeper Patrick Tingyemb then kept his team in the game when he made a great diving save to deny Wome, who had unleashed a venous free kick.

The match looked to be heading for a stalemate with the scores locked at 0-0 heading into last few minutes of the game.

However, Nomandela unleashed an angled shot into the bottom-left corner in the dying seconds to send the home support in wild celebrations and help his side claim the spoils.

The result sees Ea Lla Koto ending the weekend in sixth place, while Celtic are ninth.
