Kenya reach CECAFA final

Kenya overcame Zanzibar on penalties to reach the final of the CECAFA Cup, where they will meet Uganda.

The last-four encounter ended 2-2 after 120 minutes, with Kenya twice coming back from a goal down.

Mcha Khamis gave Zanzibar an early lead but an own goal from defender Nadir Haroub saw the game back on level terms.

Aggrey Morris put Zanzibar ahead with 15 minuets of regulation time to go, but four minutes later Mike Baraza made it 2-2.

Zanzibar's Ahmed Adeyom was red carded late in the game with both sides ending with 10 men after the foul he committed on Victor Ochieng saw the player limping off with the Harambee Stars already having used all their subs.

The shoot-out ended in a 4-3 victory for Kenya.

Uganda booked their place in the final by easing past Tanzania 3-0, thanks to two goals from Robert Ssentong and one from Emmanuel Okwi.

The final will take place on Saturday.
