Uweru left Kwara United after they were dropped to the Nigeria second division at the end of the 2010/2011 campaign, but transfer fee disputes with club management kept him tied to the Afonja Warriors for the whole of last season.
Uweru said he joined his former team and Nigerian National League side for the 2012/2013 season to revitalise his form.
Uweru told SuperSport: "I decided to return to Crown to revive my career instead of idling away and going around without cementing a shirt in any club.
"Crown embraced me with both hands and it looks like they've been praying for my return all this while I was seeking a permanent place at Kwara United.
"More so my reunion with Crown will make it easy for me to achieve the much needed breakthrough in future.
"The target is return to the Premier League, at least, the quality of players I met on ground gave me hope the challenge won't be tough."
Although the Ogbomosho city side were demoted to the Nationwide League, the team will move into the shoes of FC Ebeide in the NNL for the coming season.
