After a goalless opening stanza, Collins Mbesuma fired Pirates into the lead two minutes after the half-time interval.

Thandani Ntshumayelo then made it 2-0 for the Buccaneers in the 60th minute, with Daine Klate and Happy Jele having completed the rout.

Leopards goalkeeper Azwindini Maphaha had kept his side in the game with some good saves in the first half.

He was first called to action in the 14th minute when he produced a dive to his left to keep out a shot from Oupa Manyisa, and 12 minutes later he was again off his feet, deflecting a strike by Klate.

Mbesuma had the last real effort of the first stanza, but Maphaha pulled off another sterling effort to parry the Bucs ace'sthunderous strike around the post.

However, the Zambian hitman was not to be denied after the break, Ntshumayelo adding a second on the hour mark when he received a corner from Khethokwakhe Masuku.

Tlou Segolela then sent over a cross which found Klate, who scored from an awkward close-range volley.

Replacement Jele buried the home side when he climbed high and netted a well-placed header with ten minutes left in the match.

While Pirates stayed within four points of leaders Kaizer Chiefs, Lidoda Duvha lost more points in their attempt to climb into the top half of the table.
