Just over four months ago Dikwena were battling against relegation following a campaign which yielded just 10 Premiership victories, but this season the Rustenburg-based outfit have completely turned things around and are third in the standings.
Stars will now travel to the Athlone Stadium this week to face a Chilli Boys outfit floundering in the drop zone, but Johnson believes that teams in such a position as Chippa's usually give a lot more effort when it comes to trying to wrestle away the points.
"In a normal season we would be finding ourselves in position 15 battling against a side in third place, now against Chippa it will be the other way around," Johnson told Backpage TXT.
"We know what will be going through their minds, we've experienced what it is like to be down there, it's like a dogfight, battling for every point, be it one or three.
"They are fighting for survival and this makes them a very tough opposition. For us, it is about taking our game to another level; maintaining our form and building and improving all the time."
