Larsen: Remains grounded

Bloemfontein Celtic coach Clinton Larsen says his side can only start celebrating if they actually go on to lift the Telkom Knockout trophy in December.

Phunya Sele Sele booked their place in the final thanks to a 3-2 extra-time win over Free State Stars, setting up a date with Mamelodi Sundowns on December 1.

Larsen, who watched Sunday's encounter from the stands due to his touch-line ban, said: "Half the job is now done after qualifying for the final.

"There is no need to get excited now and then not win the cup. We still have more hard work do but now we have to sort out the next two league games before we worry about the final."

Meanwhile, the Brazilians earned their ticket to the Ziwa Mo climax courtesy of their 1-0 win over SuperSport United on Saturday, and while Larsen is wary of the Tshwane giants' threat, he is determined to remain focused on his team's own abilities.

He added: "I have always said that Sundowns are a quality team and they showed it when they played against SuperSport on Saturday.

"They are a quality side on paper but we will concentrate on our own way of playing and make sure we give of our best when we face them."
