The Kenyan Premier League champions were undone after 76 minutes of the semi-final as Joseph Nyaga fired home the game's only goal for Batoto Ba Mungu, who will now face Gor Mahia in a repeat of last year's final.
Matano was left fuming at his players after full-time, claiming they did not follow his instructions.
"We didn't play according to our game plan. They (players) took things so easy, so we didn't deserve to win," Matano told SuperSport.
When asked whether he thought the players had not taken the game seriously, he said: "I cannot say so, but the thing is they didn't play well and they didn't deserve to win. There is no way you can play badly and you want to win."
