Joseph Nyaga netted the game's only goal 16 minutes from time to hand Batoto Ba Mungu the win and a place in the final, and secured their run of never having lost a competitive match against the Brewers, who are the reigning Kenya Premier League champions.
"This is a result of my players believing well in themselves especially in the second period; a reflection of what we failed to do in the second leg of our league campaign, and I am very happy with the players for sticking to the plan in the second half," he told SuperSport.
"This win gives us a chance to keep the faith - another opportunity to get something out of a difficult season and I believe we will put our plans well in order and get the all-important win in the final."
This weekend's result ensured Sofapaka will contest their third successive President's Cup final, which will take place on Tuesday 20 November, against holders Gor Mahia in a repeat of last year's showpiece.
