Gedo had put the Egyptian club in front shortly before the break as Walid Soliman doubled the lead soon after the restart.

Yannick N'djeng managed to pull one back for the Tunisian giants, who then looked destined to draw level after winning a penalty when Moez Ben Cherifia brought down Dominique Da Silva inside the area.

However, the keeper was able to make amends as he pushed Mohamed Aboutrika's spot-kick round the post as Al Ahly lifted the trophy for the seventh time in their history, extending their record for most African Champions League wins.
